Sure-Fit Whitening Trays

Teeth whitening trays are used during teeth bleaching process. Now there is no need to wait for custom made trays. It takes too long to get them back and some time they are not done properly, and have to be re-made. Furthermore, custom-made trays are increasing the cost of your tooth whitening procedure.

Thermoplastic trays are a highly acceptable substitute. They will offer fast results nearly equal to custom (dental lab made) trays at a much lower price! Great example of thermoplastic trays is Sure-Fit Teeth Whitening Trays. They come out of the package as a curved piece of flexible plastic with a tab on the front. The Sure-Fit whitening trays will conform to the contours of your teeth and are almost unnoticeable when worn.

To shape them to your teeth, you heat them, to further soften the plastic then, holding them by the tab, you place them in your mouth and bite down firmly. When the plastic cools completely the trays will retain the impression of your teeth.
Follow the step-by-step process to create mouth trays that will be a Sure-Fit for you.

Step 1 Heat water just below boiling point in
on high in the microwave for approximately 1-1½ minutes, depending on microwave wattage, container size and amount of water used. (Water temperature should be approximately 160 degrees.)

Step 2 Insert the teeth whitening trays into the water so the arches are completely submerged.

Step 3 Slowly wave the Sure-Fit whitening trays in the water while holding the tab until the tab becomes flexible. A slight loss of shape will be noticed in the trays.

Step 4 Lift the teeth whitening trays vertically from the water and test for flexibility. The tray material should be soft and pliable.

Step 5 Use your finger to slightly flatten and flare the front segment of the tray and then spread the tray to avoid it from folding on itself. Widen the teeth-bleaching tray enough to accommodate fitting.

Step 6 Place teeth bleaching trays over upper teeth first. Use tab to approximate center. Bite down with moderate pressure to set trays in place.

Step 7 Press firmly over entire length of arch with first finger and thumb of both hands. The tray is conformed to the surfaces of the teeth when heat is no longer felt, approximately 15-30 seconds.

Step 8 Close lips and bite lightly a few times prior to removing the teeth bleaching trays.

Step 9 Allow teeth whitening trays to completely cool outside of the mouth.

Step 10 Place teeth bleaching trays in mouth and evaluate fit. Whitening trays should have precise but not overly tight fit. Rough edges or pressure points may be relieved by trimming with scissors and/or re-warming trays.

Step 11 When the edges of the trays are smooth, re-warm the entire tray a few seconds and insert one last time to relieve tightness. Put teeth whitening tray on and off teeth to insure there are no significant undercuts, and the removal is smooth with a slight
retention.

Step 12 After using teeth whitening gel, rinse trays with cool water and store in the anti-bacterial case included in the kit.

CAUTION Once the tray enters the heated water it becomes extremely flexible. Be careful not to allow the edges of the tray to fold onto it self. Repeat procedure if the tray is not soft enough to form to your teeth, or if you are not satisfied with the fit.
